Abducted by Sweet Valley

I need a little assistance and I am turning to the wonderful members of my book blogging community for help.

Sweet Valley Confidential came out today!

I really want to read this book because I do remember watching the tv show that was based off the books. And I thought I remembered reading the books too, but as I investigated further into it I realized that the only books I actually read were part of the "Super Snooper Editions". In fact the only one I have a vivid memory of reading was The Case of the Haunted Camp.

So I don't think I read any of the normal "life in high school" books. But, I really want to before reading Sweet Valley Confidential. Believe me, I have no hesitation when it comes toward taking a trip down nostalgia lane.

In fact just looking into the Sweet Valley twins makes me wonder what those Boxcar Children are up to!

But that is where I need help. From what I gathered on Wikipedia there were over 152 books published in the Sweet Valley collection, including spin-offs.

So, where does a girl start?

Granted, since I am currently not allowed to buy books, the ones I end up reading will be dependent upon which ones are offered at my local library. But still, I would love any and all suggestions.

I read the Sweet Valley Twins as a kid -- my mom thought I was too young for Sweet Valley High. But I LOVED them! And I really want to re-read them, and read the Sweet Valley High books, too. And I was really excited last year when I found out about Sweet Valley Confidential. So much so that I went online to see if our local library has the Twins and High series, and guess what? They have 7 of the Jr. High spinoff, and that's it! So I have no idea how to find them. But we should read them at the same time and then post reviews on the same day!
As far as what you should read before reading Confidential, I say read at least several of the Sweet Valley High books. They are the originals, the most popular, and I'm assuming Confidential is taking place 10 years after that series.

When I was doing my investigating this morning it said that the book takes place ten years after the girls turned 16. So even though the series had spin-offs that took the girls to college and beyond the Confidential book isn't based off that.
That is why I got so confused because I didn't want to accidentally read the spin-off books and then read Confidential and be like "What the hell?"

You can start by calling me. I know my Sweet Valley High ins and outs- I amazed (and scared) my book club with my excitement over the Confidential book. I read all the twins regular books (the high school ones as the Sweet Valley Twin books were during their middle school years). I did not follow the girls to college for more than a book or two, as I outgrew the series. But I have mad love for the Wakefield twins and friends. I've never snorted cocaine, because of Regina Morrow's tragic experience, my heart broke when Steven and Cara parted (and this was after his first girlfriend dies of leukemia), when Elizabeth took Todd back and dumped Jeffery, I cringed when Elizabeth was kidnapped by the crazy man (that was a Sweet Valley Double Jeopardy book), I begged my parents to send me to a Swiss boarding school because Elizabeth almost went to one. The only car I knew and could identity as a kid (well, other than VW Bug) was the Wakefield twins Spider Fiat.

I didn't even realize how much Sweet Valley trivia was going to waste inside my mind. It's good to finally put it to some use... even if it scares people. :)

The very first book in the Sweet Valley High series is Double Love, and Jessica and Elizabeth battle over Todd (he of the coffee-colored eyes, bleh!)

Despite my obsession with reading in order, my very first SVH book was #31 Taking Sides. It's the one in which Elizabeth and Jeffrey hook up... so that might be why I was never a Todd fan. Plus, Jeffrey played soccer and had green eyes, dreamy!

If you have any suggestions, please share. Thanks!
